What this address is used for
MAT Expert Advisors connect to news.marcalbrechttrading.com for two things: the news filter (this calendar, so the EA can pause new entries around high-impact news) and the licence check.
The news filter sends nothing about you. For the licence check the EA sends exactly this, and nothing else:
- Trading account number - to tie the licence to the account it was issued for
- Broker server name - to tell a demo from a real account and to apply partnered-broker benefits
- EA name and build id - to check the licence covers this EA and that the file is a genuine MAT build
- Licence key (if you have one) - to look up your licence; MQL5 Market copies send none
- Account type: demo or real - demo and real accounts have separate licence slots
- Whether trading is allowed in the terminal - so the licence answer matches what the EA can actually do
- A random one-time number - so an old licence answer cannot be replayed
- Your IP address (as every web request does) - kept only as a one-way hash to spot shared or abused keys; also used to rate-limit requests
